In Mark, Chapter 13, verse 5, Jesus is quoted as saying: “Take heed lest any man deceive you.” (KJV) It is how Christ began answering the Apostles questions regarding the End of the Age and the timing of His return. He goes on to describe the coming “birth pangs” or “sorrows” that will characterize that time including “wars and rumours of wars,” nations and kingdoms rising against each other – and the onset of the persecution of believers. But it all begins with His warning regarding deception. Truth is at the center of God’s message through His Son. After all, Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14:6) And it is truth that is missing in today’s world. We live in an age of deception. And our world is about to pay the price. What follows are some examples of the deception that is being perpetrated on the people of America and the world. QUOTING ISLAM – In recent weeks we’ve covered how Pope Francis has allowed Muslim prayers and Quranic readings to go forth from the ... [More]

The Verdict of Reason In PART XX we looked at a list of many of the Messianic Prophecies; scriptural passages written hundreds of years before Jesus’ appearance. These were not general prophecies but rather revealed precise details about the identity and life of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. We saw how they were fulfilled to the letter. Today we’ll look at just one more. It comes from the pen of the Prophet Daniel. It’s precision is likely to take your breath away. DANIEL PREDICTS THE EXACT DAY ! In Daniel chapter 9, written just about 530 years or so before the birth of Christ, the prophet predicts Christ’s entry into his Kingdom to the very day. Check this out. Based on Daniel’s prophecy, 1st century rabbis, those writing when Jesus was alive, - expected the arrival of Messiah right around that time. The Magi arrived seeking Him partially informed by a detailed knowledge of Jewish Scripture which had been gained by Zoroastrian wise men and astrologers since the time of ... [More]

We’ve nearly completed this long look into the future of God’s world. In our last installment we began to sum up – looking for meaning in all the events of the day. PART XXXVI made two key points. 1) JESUS CHRIST IS LIKELY GOING TO RETURN IN THIS GENERATION!!! 2) WE ARE RESPONSIBLE TO KNOW THE TIME OF OUR VISITAITON. So that’s our jumping off point for this week’s offering.  A DAY OF JUDGMENT IS COMING !!! “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” (Hosea 4:6) Those words are stark and powerful for the nation that rejects God and His laws. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you…. Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children”. That day of judgment is appointed for the land that sees fit to ignore God’s word. And so we have done. Some will say, ‘It ... [More]

Pope Francis released his long-awaited encyclical on climate change this week – and it is causing quite a stir. In it the Pope embraces the notions that climate change is irrefutably and absolutely real – and that mankind is responsible for the problem – and can fix it. In fact, he sees it as a political problem affecting the entire globe that must be addressed on not just the individual level but more importantly on the political one.[i] Success in this fight will take a “bold cultural revolution.”[ii] While correctly arguing against some of the more egregious environmental evils of modern life such as deforestation and the monopolization of water rights, the Pope’s position takes the leftist position that would close down all debate on the subject. [This despite the revelations of just a few years back that saw massive amounts of climate data purposefully fudged to achieve the ‘proper’ result - and the fact that global warming has stopped over a decade ago.] So what’s going on ... The Verdict of Reason Last time, we began to just brush the surface of events that proved the accuracy of Old Testament prophecy. Today we’ll move to another category: The Messianic Prophecies; those concerning the coming of the Messiah. These were all written hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus, yet in their precision and detail they can unmistakably refer only to the life of Christ. Some have suggested that Jesus, being a man with a ‘messiah complex’, arranged his life to have fulfilled these prophecies in order to prove he was the promised Savior. While it is true that he may have been able to have arranged some of his actions to conform to the predictions of scripture, so many more were entirely out of his control. Grant Jeffrey, writing in Jesus, The Great Debate conservatively figured the probability of anyone fulfilling just seventeen of the prophecies at one chance in 480 billion x 1billion x 1 trillion. This was not some easily arranged feat. The specificity of the ... [More]
