Today we offer our third installment in this annual look back and look forward. So far we’ve touched on terror, disasters in nature, ‘Fake News & corrupt investigations – and the move toward a One-World (electronic) Currency – which could bring with it some various serious wars. Today we’ll take a look at some futuristic technologies.
PART III – THE EDGE OF THE FUTURE
“The Lord said, ‘If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.’” (Genesis 11:6) (NIV)
- CHANGING THE MAKE-UP OF HUMANITY – The whole notion of altering who we are has taken much of the world of science by storm. The scary part of all of this is that the technology is there to begin that process. This is the outworking of Satan’s first temptation in the Garden. “Ye shall be as gods.” (Genesis 3:5) (AKJV) Science is working several different avenues toward this goal.
-
CRISPR – It is a developing technology that allows for the editing of the genome by altering the DNA sequence. (You know, playing God stuff!) In the process they are creating what scientists call “synthetic human entities.” Researchers believe that they will be able to create a baby just from human skin cells. This technology is advancing all the time. One advance is the development of a process by which gene editing can be performed on fully developed adults. Josiah Zayner, a biochemist working for NASA, produced a live-streamed internet video in which he pulled out a syringe and injected himself with a chemical cocktail designed to alter his DNA. His purpose: “I want to help humans genetically modify themselves.”[i]
Well, since that’s possible now, you know the Pentagon is going to get involved. So enter DARPA, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency known for researching weapons involving Artificial Intelligence, robotics and other futuristic technologies. They’ve just spent $100 million developing “genetic extinction technologies.” For now the “known research is focused entirely on pest control and eradication.” They are looking at things like “malarial mosquitoes, invasive rodents or other species.”[ii] But this is but the practical outworking of a technology that existed in theoretical terms for over a decade. We’re talking about genetically targeted biological weapons. A Guardian article from 2004 explains what we’re talking about. “Such ‘genetic bombs’ could contain anthrax or bubonic plague tailored to activate only when genes indicated the infected person was from a particular group.”[iii] Meanwhile the US Military is working on creating the ‘Super-Warriors’ of the future. The US Air Force is experimenting with electric shocks to enhance mental skills.[iv] While the Army is looking toward brain implants, eventually allowing them to one day be able to plug digitized brains into a centralized computer system.[v] [It can only get worse from here!]
- THE RISE OF AI – Artificial Intelligence is on the verge of major breakthroughs on many fronts. Scientists are preparing for an AI dominated world. [Whether they will actually be able to pull that off, is another question. Yet they prepare nonetheless. The vision for AI includes a ‘machine’ – (for lack of a better term) – whose ‘reasoning power’ will soon(?) dwarf that of its human inventors. It will be able to learn in order to adapt to new situations and replicate itself. It will be able to transform its form and ‘make decisions’ regarding the usefulness of humanity. AI will certainly serve as a tool of control for the coming New World Order.
