On Thursday, July 16th, a lone gunmen named Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez launched two separate attacks in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In the first, Abdulazeez sprayed a recruiting center, before firing shots at a military base about 7 miles away just minutes later. Four Marines were killed and three other people wounded. The terrorist was killed when police and one military commander returned fire.[i] He was born in Kuwait, raised in Jordan. His father was once on a terror watch list. The gunman spent recent months blogging about submitting to Allah.[ii]
The event may have had a connection to ISIS. INFOWARS reported that a newly created Twitter account “appears to have sent out a tweet before Muhammad Youssef Abulazeez was identified as the shooter. The tweet stated that ‘American dogs’ would see ‘wonders’ with hashtags including Chattanooga, USA and ISIS.” The tweet seemed to have been an attempt for ISIS to take responsibility an attack they knew was coming before it was launched.[iii]
