Thought I’d use this end-of-year / beginning-of-year period to do a little review. So in the next couple of issues or so we’ll be taking a look at where we’ve been – recently – and where we’re headed. Taking our ‘prophetic pulse,’ if you will. To start with will look at some stories with prophetic significance that point up just how far we’ve fallen from the mark. We’ll break them down over the next few weeks.  WHERE WE’VE BEEN - 1 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2Timothy 3:1-5) The Advance of the LGBT Agenda It was a watershed year for the Gay cause. It was a year of the ... [More]

It will be a short one today. But I think it will make its point. There is coming a day when all the armies of the world will unite against Israel. But the God Himself will stretch His hand of protection over that Land. “Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:4) What is happening today may be a herald of the future. HARBINGER OF A FUTURE TIME ? “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” (Zechariah 12:2-3) “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 14:1-2) It was Jerry Golden whose report put this in perspective. Nations are ... [More]

For the last several sessions we’ve been talking about Israel and God’s Heart for His People. As we watch today’s news we are seeing the fulfillment of prophecy unfold before us. But prophecy is advancing on many other fronts too. And today we’ll take a look at some of those. A WAR ON FUNDAMENTALISM The Pope is a very influential man and this one, perhaps, more than most. He is admired by Catholics….and Protestants….and Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists etc. In the sense of promoting religious harmony, Pope Francis has become a promoter of spiritual unity on a global scale. So his recent remarks made while visiting the Central African Republic and a mosque there are quite curious to say the least – and to be very accurate, plain wrong. The mosque was described as besieged by Christian militias surrounding it after Muslim rebels ousted the president and seized control of the country. Francis came in the name of peace….of course. “Together, we must say no to hatred, to revenge and ... [More]

We have seen in the past how the false theology of Replacement Theology – the notion that somehow the Church replaced Israel in God’s economy – produced a mindset that set the stage for violent anti-Semitism and even the Holocaust. Last time out we reviewed God’s promises to Israel; the prophesied re-establishment of the physical nation and the return of the Jewish People from around the world. We witnessed Israel’s return to the family of nations in 1948. We are watching the return of His People even today. Yet anti-Semitism has not died. The desire to destroy the Jewish nation has not abated. It has just taken on a new form – and it is driving prophecy today.  ISRAEL & THE HEART OF GOD - 4 It’s been 70 years since the end of World War II; 70 years since the liberation of the camps; of Auschwitz and Birkenau and Treblinka; 70 years since the end of the Holocaust. That’s about the lifetime of a generation. Psalm 90:10 gives it this way: “The days of our years are threescore ... [More]

Yes, we did skip last week because of the extremely important news coming out of Paris. But last time out we chronicled how during the first centuries of the Church, what had started as a primarily Jewish institution morphed into a Gentile one. In the process replacing its Hebrew roots with Greek philosophy and in some instances, outright paganism. We saw that over time, the Church became increasingly hostile to the Jewish people resulting in expulsion, persecution and murder. This was a course often approved and encouraged by the Church Fathers. This hostility led to the pogroms in Russia, and laid the intellectual foundation for the Holocaust. It also gave birth to something called Replacement Theology, which holds that Israel forfeited the promises of God – and that instead these belonged to the Church. That explains why the Vatican believes even today that it has the right to claim control over Jerusalem and the Holy Land. But that is NOT God’s plan as it is laid out in His Word. ... [More]
