Freemasonry and its illuminized offshoots have become the modern manifestation of the ancient Mystery Religions which originated in Babylon. Together they have husbanded the occult traditions; hiding their meanings from not only the general public – but also from the lower level Masons. Such was their intent. It’s time we took a concentrated look at the nature of that beast.
FREEMASONRY: THE HEIR OF BABYLON
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:24)
“The Masonic movement… is the custodian of the law…… it is the home of the mysteries and the seat of initiation. It holds in its symbolism the ritual of Deity… and the way of salvation is pictorially preserved in its work in the temples. The methods of Deity are demonstrated in its Temples, and under the all-seeing-eye the work can go forward. It is a far more occult organization than can be realized, and is intended to be the training school for the coming advanced occultists.”[i] Alice Bailey
It is fortunate that we have them in their own words. Alice Bailey can be considered one of the founding priestesses of today’s New Age Movement. And here we have her – revealing the occult nature of Freemasonry. Of course this should be no great surprise to anyone who has followed this series from the beginning. After all, its origin from the Babylonian Mystery Religion gives away its guiding ethic. And that ethic is the very worship of Lucifer himself. Yet there is a certain sadness about it. After all, it is a willful blindness that colors their adapted world view. Here is Eliphas Levi in his work: The Mysteries of Magic. “What is more absurd and more impious than to attribute the name of Lucifer to the devil, that is, to personified evil. The intellectual Lucifer is the spirit of intelligence and love; it is the paraclete, it is the Holy Spirit, while the physical Lucifer is the great agent of universal magnetism.”[ii] Thus is he attributing the works of the original Fallen Angel Lucifer to the workings and power of the Holy Spirit. And yet this is no doubt sincerely believed. This is it seems, the mirror image of the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit – the ‘unforgiveable sin’, that Jesus referenced in Matthew 12. It is there that the Pharisees attributed Jesus’ healing ministry to the work of the Devil. There is no doubt that this is a dangerous belief to hold.
It is Helena Blavatsky, the founder of Theosophy that enunciated a sort of creed of the Luciferian faith. “Lucifer represents..Life..Thought..Progress..Civilization..Liberty..Independence..Lucifer is the Logos..the Serpent, the Savior.”[iii] Blavatsky goes on. “It is Satan who is the God of our planet and the only God.”[iv] Of course this is blasphemy of the highest order. The Apostle John clearly defines Jesus the Christ as the Word or Logos in the opening of his Gospel. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) The Greek ‘Logos’ translated “Word” here is such a pregnant term. Ligonier Ministries explains it so: “The cosmic Christ enters our humanity. It is the supreme moment of visitation of the eternal with the temporal, the infinite with the finite.”[v]
But perhaps to get a true picture of Masonic Doctrine we must turn to Albert Pike , the 33rd degree Mason who authored Morals and Dogma, a definitive work of higher level Masonic belief. Now many a Masonic apologist will tell you that Masonry is NOT a religion – or that it is perfectly compatible with Christianity. Nothing can be farther from the truth. On page 226 of Morals and Dogma, Pike writes this. “Masonry, around whose altars the Christian, the Hebrew, the Moslem, the Brahmin, the followers of Confucius and Zoroaster, can assemble as brethren and unite in prayer to the one God who is above all the Baalim, must needs leave it to each of its Initiates to look for the foundation of his faith and hope to the written scriptures of his own religion.” Later in the same work he goes on to point out that the purpose of Masonry is to “respect all forms of worship” and he encourages a “religion of good works”. Finally, he takes on the person of Jesus Himself, declaring the whole basis of Christianity to be founded upon a fraud. “And as little do we tell the sincere Christian that Jesus of Nazareth was but a man like us, or His history but the unreal revival of an older legend.”[vi] [vii] Of course this is a clear and direct contradiction of 1John 2:22-23. “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” [In this denial of the deity of Jesus, the Masons have much in common with Islam. Muslims too, deny that Jesus is the Son of God. By extension they both then deny that Jesus’ death and resurrection – (which Islamic teaching specifically rejects as even happening) – was the substitutionary price paid for the salvation of mankind; the very center of the Christian faith. How then can Freemasonry be a respecter of “all forms of worship?”] We return to Albert Pike.
“Lucifer, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the son of the morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with it’s splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual or selfish Souls? Doubt it not!”[viii] But it was in a speech he gave to the “23 Supreme Councils of the World” – in which Pike gave his most clear enunciation of the Satanic doctrine of Freemasonry. “That which we must say to a crowd is – We worship a God, but it is the God that one adores without superstition. To you, Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, we say this, that you may repeat it to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st, and 30th degrees – The Masonic Religion should be, by all of us initates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian Doctrine. If Lucifer were not God, would Adonay whose deeds prove his cruelty, perdify and hatred of man, barbarism and repulsion for science, would Adonay and his priests, calumniate him? Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay is also god. For the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods: darkness being necessary to the statue, and the brake to the locomotive. Thus, the doctrine of Satanism is a heresy; and the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay; but Lucifer, God of Light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil.”[ix]
Theirs is an admitted occult connection. Morals and Dogma then ties Freemasonry in to the ancient Kaballah and Gnosticism. “The Kabalah is the key of all Masonry and the occult sciences; and the Gnostics were born of the Kabalists.”[x] It was the early form of Kaballah, as practiced by the Pharisee party that opposed Jesus in his ministry and denied that He was the Messiah. That is the same as the Masonic message. During the 19th century, Freemasonry began to spread its influence through the founding of a number of religious cults that warped the message of Jesus in subtle and sometimes powerful ways. Gary Kah explains. “Freemasonry experienced tremendous growth during the nineteenth century, particularly during the second half of the century when Freemasonry flourished as never before. This was also a time of rapid growth for Masonically-inspired religious cults. In addition to founding the Theosophical Society, Freemasonry participated in the rise and spread of Christian Science and Unitarianism; and Masons Rutherford and Russell founded the Jehovah’s Witnesses. all of these cults have served to subtly direct people away from the truth of Christ. The largest of these religious offshoots, however, would be the Mormon Church, which was founded by Joseph Smith, another high ranking Mason.”
What need we of further evidence – when we have them in their own words. Freemasonry at its highest levels is a deception of the first order. They have admitted this themselves in their instructions to fool even their own lower degrees. It is nothing short of rebellion – against the God of the Universe. Here are the words of Paul as he describes the events to come. “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish.” Bu this is Satan, working through men – and one man in particular; the one we have come to call Antichrist. Others refer to him as the New Age Christ or the Masonic Christ. Many are the ‘fools’ and the “useful idiots” that make this deception by their willingness to believe – to be fooled – to put the pursuit of their own ends above the pursuit of TRUTH – above the pursuit of the Most High God. Continuing in Thessalonians, Paul tells us why. It’s “because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2Thessalonians 2:7-12)
