Would the pottery say to the potter “You have not made me right?” Would an ant shake his fist at a human and say “You have no power over me?” When I think about these statements I’m reminded of mankind’s attitude towards God.
With God hidden behind a world of ‘political correctness,’ we’ve become ignorant to his attributes. The fact that God is Infinite is a major characteristic overlooked. Revelation 1:4 tells us God not only exists today, but has always existed and will always exist. He is constant and never changing. Hebrews 13:8 say’s “ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” The words God inspired men to write in the 66 books of the Bible are concrete, permanent and infinitely hold true!
God’s Word is our road map giving us clear direction in life. He promises blessings when we follow his instructions and warns us of what’s ahead when we don’t. Try looking at the Ten Commandments as promises. For example: “You shall have no other gods before Me” -because I am the only One who can protect you, “You shall not make idols” -because they’ll distract you from the One true God. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” -because you’ll wear yourself out working all the time. “You shall not commit adultery” -because you’ll destroy your family. “You shall not covet” -because it’s contentment that brings you peace. Get the point?
His ways make sense! He is the creator and we are the created. Since society’s forgotten God’s laws, ‘feelings’ have become the compass guiding us. We hear things like… “I feel everyone has a right to love whomever they want as long as they’re happy” or “I feel a woman should have the right to choose after all it’s her body!” Feelings are unreliable and change like the wind. We need stability and truth! We need Jesus Christ the solid and never shifting Rock! And when we finally stop going against the grain and relinquish our control over to our maker, his supernatural peace and comfort will cover us like a blanket.
