What is it about Christmas time that leads some to despair?  All the merriment adds to the misery of the already joyless soul; making him or her feel all the sadder and isolated.  The number of people struggling with depression rises rapidly every year. Factoring into the equation may be divorce, family problems, finances, illness or the death of a loved one.  Just living in this fast paced, device-driven world can bring on anxiety!  So much has changed in the last 50 years. Progress moves full speed ahead, as sinful man moves further away from the God who sustains him. Depression is the by-product of having no hope.  People lose hope over time by putting their faith in temporal things; which will eventually disappoint because they can’t last.  Joy on the other hand, is the by-product of having hope!  We can have hope when our faith rests in the everlasting God, whose incomprehensible love will never disappoint because He is eternal! This God has come to us as Jesus ... [More]

This week a random article from the Middle East Monitor caught my eye and really brought home for me the reality of the fact that we are living in the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.  The headline read: “Malaysian army ‘ready to perform its duty’ towards Palestinians.”  And I thought wow, Malaysia is pledging the lives of its young soldiers to advance the cause of a Palestinian People that was first artificially created in the 1960’s.  These Malaysians, living 4,700 miles away, across deserts and oceans, were preparing to fight for Jerusalem.  We are living on the cusp of that Day written of, by the Prophet Zechariah, when he rendered the words God gave him.  “For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 14:2)  It brings home the real meaning of this contest.  It is a test of wills between rebellious mankind and the purposes of God.  [And believe me, once God enters in: It will not be much of a contest.]  Today we’ll look at one important prophecy that ... It’s nothing that should surprise anybody or send anyone into shock.  The Pentagon has a secret budget for investigating UFOs.  No big deal I think, if a bit disingenuous, considering the semi-official policy of pooh-poohing all-things-ET-related.  The New York Times revealed the program – and other outlets around the globe have picked up on the story.  The program has been officially shut down since 2012 but the investigations into suspicious incidents continue.  Among its areas of interest, the program studied the encounters reported by military pilots during the course of their duties.  Tapes exist of multiple pilots observing the same phenomenon at the same time and conversing about it.  The times reported “footage from a Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet showing an aircraft surrounded by some kind of glowing aura traveling at high speed and rotating as it moves. The Navy pilots can be heard trying to understand what they are seeing. ‘There’s a whole fleet of them.’” – one pilot ... [More]

Jerusalem is the center of the world.  This city in what would otherwise be only a moderately remarkable state is the focal point of the Globe’s three monotheistic faiths.  Nearly every nation in the world, as well as the EU, the UN and the Vatican believe they have a stake in its fate.  And in the Last Days, when the rebellion against God will reach its Zenith, it is Jerusalem that will be the point of contention.  The long-overdue recognition that Jerusalem is and should remain the capital of Israel is a driving force that has infuriated the nations and moved the prophetic clock forward.  There is coming a battle their when the whole world will unite against Israel….But God will see His purposes fulfilled.  “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst.  For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 14:1-2) PART II – GOD’S PURPOSES To understand the meaning of what just happened when President Trump affirmed ... Last time we looked at the cultural shift that comes with brining in un-assimilating Muslim immigrants into a once-Christian based Western society.  Europe is fast becoming a mess.  Don’t get me wrong.  The numbers will tell you that the majority of Europeans still identify as Christians.  But that seems about the extent of their commitment to their faith.  It is not reflected in church attendance – and it certainly is not reflected in the laws and cultural mores that we are seeing on the continent. PART VI – THE ASSAULT ON BIBLICAL RELGION Many biblical scholars point to Daniel Chapter 2, Daniel 7and Revelation 13 and see the Antichrist coming from a revived Roman Empire.  On the other hand, as we will see, there is evidence too, that he may arise from the ranks of Islam.  Thus there is an inherent challenge to reconcile the notion of the rise of a Revived Roman Empire with the belief that the Antichrist will likely come from Islam. The fact is, I believe both of those ... [More]
