“And they built the high places of Baal that are in the valley of Ben-Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech.” (Jeremiah 32:35)
In this modern day and age the notion of child sacrifice seems to be something out of another age. But it is only too real. Only we couch it now in the language of feminism and women’s reproductive rights. Take the case of Patricia Baird-Windle, an abortionist proudly responsible for the taking the lives of 65,000 babies in the womb. Upon her retirement in 1999 she gave an interview in which she said: “I now consider abortion to be a major blessing, and to be a sacrament in the hands of women.” When asked how she could sleep nights she said that “there is no form of guilt when you know what you’re doing is giving a woman power over her life.” She summed up her career as follows. “I had a fabulous career. And every abortion and every contraceptive delivered … was a victory.”[i] The most shocking admission though was something that she once said at a party……though she later claimed it was all in jest. She had claimed to be a “goddess” and said: “My religion is a holy ritual child sacrifice.”[ii] There is it seems, no shame in this sin for those that promote it.
And this is no aberration. Modern Feminism is replete with examples of this bloody philosophy. At the 1985 convention of the National Abortion Foundation, Carter an ordained female Episcopal priest, argued for more than just the ‘right’ to an abortion. “If women were in charge, abortion would be a sacrament, an occasion of deep and serious and sacred meaning.”[iii] The religious nature of the belief on the part of many in the movement is given credence by MS Magazine itself in a 1985 issue. Its’ ties go directly to the occult. “The feminist spirituality movement began to emerge in the mid-1970s and has become one of the largest sub-movements within feminism. It’s amorphous, blending in a surprisingly smooth amalgam radical feminism, pacifism, witchcraft, Eastern mysticism, goddess worship, animism, psychic healing, and a variety of practices normally associated with ‘fortune-telling.’ It exists nationwide and takes the form of large, daylong workshops, small meditation groups, and even covens that meet to work spells and do rituals under the full moon. But to the women in feminist spirituality, witchcraft had even a more fundamental meaning. It is a woman’s religion, vilified by patriarchal Christianity, and now, finally, reclaimed.”[iv]
A few years back, the Rev Thomas J. Euteneuer, president of Human Life International, spelled out the true nature of the abortion phenomenon. “The spiritual dimension of this grisly ‘business’ is its’ systematizing of ritual blood sacrifice to the god of child murder, Moloch. This demon is not content with a single act of murder here and there. His insatiable appetite for the death of innocents seeks public endorsement to justify his gruesome deeds, and he needs a systematic expression of it to increase his worship.” In a book on exorcism Euteneuer writes, “The modern abortion industry offers ritual blood sacrifice to the ancient abortion demon. It is in every way a demonic religion. It has its sacred dogma (“choice”), – its ruling hierarchy (Planned Parenthood), – its theologians (feminist ideologues), – its’ sacrificing priesthood (abortionists), – its temples (abortion mills), – altars (surgical tables), – ritual victims (primarily babies and secondarily women).” He concludes his analysis with this definitive statement. “In short, the abortion industry is a perfect demonic system which offers a perverse form of worship to the devil.”[v] This is the depth to which America has fallen. We even have a president that calls God’s blessing upon the abortionists, saying that they are doing God’s work. When America is judged one of its greatest sins will be the arrogance that has allowed the government and culture to not only allow such a practice – but to embrace and promote it. Abortion truly is a work of the Devil himself; an act of ritual murder, taking the lives of the innocent on an altar built of convenience. And as Jesus said of the Devil: “He was a murderer from the beginning.” (John 8:44)
