A Manhattan jury convicted former President Donald Trump on all 34 counts
The decision was not a surprise. The star witnesses for the prosecution consisted of a porn-star and a disbarred layer who had been convicted of perjury. The US is in the process of transforming itself into a Third World Banana Republic. Or worse, a version of the 1930’s Soviet Union, complete with show-trials and predetermined verdicts. Independent observers called the case legally flawed and political in nature. It was an act of a regime desperate to take out its’ political opponent before America could go to the ballot box. Even many Democrats believe the decision will be reversed upon appeal. But that may be too late. Trump trial Judge Juan Merchan is an open Biden supporter and his daughter is a major fund raiser for the Biden campaign.
Law Professor Alan Dershowitz is a life-long Democrat, called it “a sad day for American justice.” How does one turn an expired misdemeanor into several felonies? Trump faced a biased jury and a biased judge. Dershowitz did say that he doubted that the New York Court of Appeals would not likely overturn the verdict, again suggesting anti-Trump bias. Dershowitz: “I don’t like Donald Trump as a candidate. I am a liberal and a Democrat and I’m voting for Biden.” Still, he concluded, the “Trump verdict is a bad day for America and the American legal system .”[i] [ii] [iii]
