PART V– EDUCATION: THE CULTURAL WEDGE OF INSANITY
In America the leading edge of the new culture may be found in the nation’s educational institutions. As we have seen, the official arm of the country’s educators, the National Education Association (NEA) has long led the way against traditional American culture. They consistently pass resolutions against parental choice, tuition tax credits, voucher plans, and home schooling. Other resolutions promote “multicultural education to reduce ‘homophobia,’” mandatory diversity in staff, acceptance of gay/lesbian lifestyles and that highest of all educational virtues; – abortion on demand.[i] At their 2006 meetings in Orlando, the NEA decided that more than “tolerance’ was required toward homosexuality and called for “acceptance and respect” instead. Interestingly at the same time, – in light of the increasing incidence of teacher-student sex, – they refused to condemn such contact “between education professionals and minor students”.
Instead, in the words of Agape’s Ed Vitagliano, “Public education is being used to brainwash thousands of children…into believing that homosexuality is simply a normal and healthy variation of human sexuality”. Evidence is emerging across the country that this is indeed the case. In one district in Kentucky, students were required to view portions of Brokeback Mountain, followed by discussion of the film; – all without parental notification or approval. In that Boyd county district, all students and faculty are required to attend diversity training that promotes homosexuality, – without the ability to “opt out”, – even for religious reasons. In Massachusetts one school boasts a gay pride week. In another school, one teacher revealed his homosexuality to his first-grade students. In another an eighth-grade teacher admitted on National Public Radio that she taught her kids about lesbian sex, demonstrating techniques using sex toys. Across the country, GLESEN, (the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network), thousands of schools to promote their agenda with a ‘Day of Silence.’ One goal of that agenda is to “to highlight the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ people at school.”[ii] This has been an annual event of propaganda and brain washing since its inception in 1996.
This is not to indict the majority of dedicated teachers that are not part of this system of social deconstruction. The fact is however that the higher haunts of the American education establishment, and halls of Academia, march in lock-step compliance with the dictates of a socialist, anti-God philosophy/theology of social change. Take Ohio State University’s Mansfield campus, for instance. In the Spring of 2006, as World Net Daily put it, the entire faculty “…voted without dissent to investigate a Christian librarian for “sexual harassment” simply because he recommended the bestselling book ‘The Marketing of Evil.’”. The devout Quaker also suggested three other conservative titl es be read to serve as balance to the liberal books already on the list of required reading for freshman. That required reading was in addition to a mandatory seminar that promoted and “celebrated” homosexual values. The faculty, led by some openly gay professors, characterized the suggested conservative titles as “hate literature,” and stated that they felt “threatened” and “unsafe” by the literature suggested. One teaches valuable courses on “lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender literature.” Even back then it was clear that diversity of thought is not welcome on college campuses.[iii] Now that has served as the foundation of the Anti-Free Speech Movement of today’s American Left. So when we see Youtube and Facebook and Twitter move to censor, demonetize, hide or outright ban the free expression of those they disagree with we can know that it is just the expected actions of a generation that has been indoctrinated into the totalitarian notions of repression of freedoms and rights long held sacrosanct in America. [In fact, those traditions go even farther back, in English Common Law, preceding even the Magna Carta of 1215.]
This anti-Western mindset is fast entrenching itself in American higher education. The Young America Foundation annually a ranking of the top 12 politically correct college courses being offered around the country. Here’s some samples. The first two are from about a decade ago. The last are from 2016-2017.
- Princeton: The Cultural Production of Early Modern Women – A look at “prostitutes,” “cross-dressing,” and “same-sex eroticism,” from 1500 to 1700.
- Johns Hopkins: Sex, Drugs and Rock’n’ Roll in Ancient Egypt – Features women “having intercourse”, “vomiting on each other” and “fixing their hair.”[iv] [Those Egyptian babes really knew how to have fun, didn’t they?]
- University of South Cafolina: Ecofeminism – “An explanation of the connections between oppression of women and oppression of nature.”
- University of Florida: Black Hair Politics – “Provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary examination of the history, sociology, psychology and economics of Black hair.”
- Williams College: Racial Capitalism – “This class will interrogate the ways in which capitalist economies have ‘always and everywhere’ relied upon forms of racist domination and exclusion.”
- Swarthmore College: Queering God: Feminist and Queer Theology – “The God of the Bible and later Jewish and Christian literature is distinctively masculine, definitely male. Or is He? If we can point out places in traditional writings where God is nurturing, forgiving, and loving, does that mean that God is feminine or female? This course examines feminist and queer theology, and seeks to stretch the limits of gendering-and-sexing-the divine.”
- Bowdoin College: Transgender Latina Immigration – [No explanation needed.]
- University of Mississippi: Saints and Sexuality – “A survey of holy figures within Christianity and Islam with an emphasis on gender and the body.”[v]
Thus is the fruit of the never ending search for pleasure in ‘new experiences’. Nothing is out of bounds because there is no standard by which we can judge, – because all things are equally valid in this new culture. By dethroning the God of the Bible, the culture of chaos has made all men ‘gods’ with an equal call upon a personal Truth. Again, devotees of this culture then are “without self-control, … lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.” (2 Timothy 3:3-5)
Throughout this series we have documented the purposeful manipulation of the American education system, by controlling forces that sought to undermine the long-held beliefs of Western Culture. It is by no means an indictment of individual teachers or parents trying to work within this almost unworkable system. But it was intended as an expose of the assault. It is not easy to be Christian in the public school system; – at least not if your faith is something to be taken seriously. Sending them out in to a fallen world, Jesus warned his disciples, “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” We are responsible for equipping our children to live an ultimately successful life. By definition, a successful life is a godly life. We cannot blindly put our children at risk, but must take all prudent measures to ensure their success. That is both a sign of our love and a duty to our Creator. Remember the words of Hosea 4:6! “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” It is our duty to communicate a knowledge of the TRUTH!
