Naghmeh Abedini Posts about Her Personal Journey to Denounce Islam – “Nagmeh, the wife of imprisoned American Pastor Saeed Abedini, kicked off her new year with a three-week fast.” In a Facebook post Monday, she said, “The focus of the fast is to spend more time in the presence of the Lord and to draw closer to the heart of God. Man-made religions are all empty labels that will not give us access to God. Access to God is only possible through Jesus Christ”, she said. Late last year, Naghmeh pulled back her public fight to see her husband freed from prison in Iran. In December she posted on Facebook, “The truth is that I still love my husband more than ever and my advocacy for him has taken a new form of interceding on my knees…”[i] (Jan.7, 2016 CBN News)
Plot to Assassinate Netanyahu Foiled – Two Israeli Arabs were indicted on Friday for planning to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Both were arrested last month as part of a Hamas cell and charge with assisting an enemy at wartime, contact with a foreign agent, plotting a terrorist attack and manufacturing explosives. They also planned a large attack in Jerusalem for earlier this month. 25 suspects were arrested last month as part of the investigation; most were students in Abu Dis University.[ii] (Jan. 12, 2016 Breaking Israel News)
Dangerous Gunman Enters Church; Leaves a Changed Man – the Fayetteville Observer reports the man, a veteran, went into Heal the Land Outreach Ministries during a New Year’s service. The Pastor, a veteran himself, asked the man if he needed help, and the would-be gunman dissolved into tears. Pastor Wright took the rifle from the gunman and prayed with him before inviting him to take a seat in the front row. “I finished the message, I did the altar call and he stood right up, came up to the altar, and gave his life to Christ. It’s so hard to describe, to explain the excitement and love of God in the room. This man came in to do harm and he has given his life to Christ,” Wright told CNN.
