Thousands March in Downtown LA to Celebrate God’s Gift of Life – More than 15,000 Southern Californians, and a diverse roster of local and international speakers and celebrities, joined Archbishop Jose H. Gomez at OneLife LA, on Sat., Jan. 23, 2016 at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles. International pop star Alexander Acha took the stage at OneLife LA and introduced keynote speaker, Nick Vujicic, who travels around the world sharing his powerful story of challenges and blessings despite being born without limbs, spoke about his passion for life and achieving victory over his struggles through faith. “If God can use a man without arms and legs to be His hands and feet, then He will certainly use any willing heart,” said Vujicic.[i]
“If Black Lives Matter, Lives in the Womb Matter,” Says NFL Star Matt Birk at March for Life Rally – (Jan 25, 2016:LifeSiteNews.com) Matt Birk, the former center for the Minnesota Vikings and the Baltimore Ravens, proclaimed his support for women and unborn children this afternoon from the frosty dais of the March for Life (in Wash. D.C.) “We march, because I’ve never heard a woman give birth to a baby and say, ‘I wish I had an abortion.’ That is why we march,” he said. Birk, who earned a degree in economics form Harvard, called grieving mothers recovering from an abortion “the real heroes” of the pro-life movement. “We love them, and we appreciate them,” he said. He also struck upon contemporary controversies, saying, “If black lives matter, Lives in the womb matter.”[ii]
