This has been an amazing turn of events. In a conflict that seemingly had no end – the conditions for an end were orchestrated. The IDF had created a pincers maneuver against Hamas and the writing was on the wall. With the added weight of President Trump, a ceasefire was arranged. On Monday, October 13, Israel released approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners – murderers and terrorists included – and received back 20 hostages. These were those that remained of the 251 kidnapped and taken to Gaza on October 7, 2023.

That is the same Gaza that danced and celebrated and raped and beat paraded those hostages, after gang rapes and baby baking in Israel proper. [But it was peace nonetheless.] President Trump landed in Israel to declare the end of the war. Somehow, since that time, Israel has been turned into the aggressor in the eyes of the world. The Hamas terrorists, getting for the most part – a free pass for their crimes. The first stage of the 20 point peace plan was completed. And Israel rejoiced with Bibi Netanyahu’s approval rating soaring to 58%.[i] [He is considering a new election right now.] Many rejoiced but the hurts are not all assuaged. The bodies of many hostages were not handed over to the Israelis as required by the cease fire agreement. They say they cannot locate all of the bodies.
Now it is the ceasefire itself that is revealing the brutality of Hamas. There is fighting going on between various Arab clans and Hamas forces. And Hamas security forces are engaging in a brutal slaughter of those they accuse of being disloyal to the cause. Palestinian victims are lined up and shot by Hamas. The Left that has long targeted Israel for every perceived affront now is silent in the wake of the cease fire and release of the hostages. A Kurdish source weighed in. “Kurdish Heval☀️⚛️ @antipasta
“[ii]Hamas is killing Palestinians across Gaza, and the world is silent. No headlines. No protests. No UN outrage. Maybe now it’s clear: they were never marching for Palestinians. They were marching for Hamas.” And now the word is out, Hamas does not want to comply with the next phase of the agreement and disarm. As reported by the National Security Journal, “Hamas is already reasserting control with a “reign of terror” against dissidents and has publicly rejected giving up its weapons.”[iii] But still, it is a great accomplishment – whether or not it holds. And there is a prophetic angle to it all.
NO, it is not the covenant confirmed by the Antichrist, talked about in Daniel 9. That comes with some very specific conditions, which have not been met. Daniel 9:27 refers to the Antichrist confirming a covenant with Israel that is to last seven years. AC will not honor that agreement and instead break in three-and-one-half-years in by interrupting the sacrifice in what will be the newly rebuilt Temple. At present there is not Temple, no agreement to build one and no sacrificial system in place in Israel. Here’s the language of the Scripture in the NIV. “He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” That put to rest let’s look at the prophetic that does apply.
Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn lays out the extraordinary connections. The slaughter that occurred on October 7, 2023 occurred on an Jewish High Holy Day, the Feast of Sukkot or Tabernacles. It is a time anticipating when God will dwell with His people in the future Kingdom. The name of the operation conducted by Hamas was called the Al Aqsa Flood. The Al Aqsa Mosque is on the Temple Mount. So, it involves the ground that will serve as ground zero in the Antichrist’s struggle against the God of the Bible. It was conducted during Sukkot, the holiest of holidays. Sukkot is to be a time of rejoicing. It was set to commemorate their deliverance out of Egypt. As the last day of the feast blends into the next it becomes the Hoshana Rabbah, the final day of Sukkot. Rabbi Cahn tells us how this is also a day of judgment and has historical antecedents as such. In 1946 it was the day that Nazi war criminals were hanged. The next day, the 8th day, is the day of new beginnings.

So, what the enemy began on October 7, 2023 cycled through two years and ended up at the same point on the Hebrew calendar.[iv] The hostages were returned on the very same day. It became the day of joy that it was intened to be. It became the day of new beginnings. President Trump flew to Israel to celebrate the day of their return. He addressed the Knesset, [over-ambitiously] declaring the war to be over. [However, it was still a moment of victory over evil and personal joy for the hostages and their families and for the Palestinians and Israelis that will be given some rest from the hostilities.] And he gave honor to the God of the Bible when he said, “We gather on a day of profound joy, of soaring hope, of renewed faith, above all, a day to give our deepest thanks to the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”[v]
