A flurry of activity by the US, it’s allies and adversaries is pointing to the likelihood of a conflict with Iran. America is staging a massive buildup of forces in the Middle East. Iran Russia and China are reacting. And multiple nations are calling their people home.
THE BACKGROUND
- Iran has been ramping up its’ missile program and continuing to work on nuclear energy which could result in a homegrown nuclear weapon in the near future.
- Iran’s currency, the Rial has been collapsing resulting in massive inflation.
- This is what primarily lead to the current protests.
- Iran’s government, under the Ayatollah Khamenei has been brutal in putting down the protests. The number of protestors killed has varied from over 6,000 to somewhere around 30,000.
President Trump has warned the US would strike if the Iranians continued to murder their own civilians.- The US has been building up forces in the region.
- “Iran has repeatedly threatened to drag the entire Middle East into a war, though its air defences and military are still reeling after the June war launched by Israel against the country. But the pressure on its economy may spark new unrest as everyday goods slowly go out of reach of its people.”
- “Ambrey, a private security firm, issued a notice Tuesday saying it assessed that the U.S. ‘has positioned sufficient military capability to conduct kinetic operations against Iran while maintaining the ability to defend itself and regional allies from reciprocal action.’”[i]
THE BUILDUP
- The US has been moving B-52 Stratofortress aircraft to Diego Garcia with in striking distance of Iran.
- In addition, tanker aircraft is being moved from Spain to the Middle East.[ii]
- The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group – and possibly the USS George HW Bush are headed to the region.
- It is likely that submarines are in the area adding Tomahawk missiles to the ordnance that would be available.
- From Middle East Forum: “The administration is assembling the tools for major contingency operations while maintaining diplomatic flexibility. The partial evacuation of Al Udeid Air Base on January 14 and reports that CENTCOM has been placed on a 24/7 war-planning posture suggest decision-makers believe action may be imminent.”[iii]
Reports that the US Electronic Warfare Jamming has begun in the western Persian Gulf. Ships operating there are reporting “radar anomalies” and that their GPS is not working.- “A source told Iran International that recent assessments identify the primary objective as delivering a decisive blow to maximally weaken and ultimately collapse Iran’s governing structure; a scenario that, in his words, is not comparable in scale or intensity to anything Iran has experienced so far.”
- Tehran has said they have “full knowledge” of the American plan and that striking Israel will be part of the response. Symbolically, they have raised the red flag of Shia Islam on the Jamkaran Mosque, signaling a war of revenge. [iv]
Hal Turner reports: “Iran has intensified its long-standing threats to close the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime chokepoint through which approximately 20% of the world’s oil and 25% of seaborne oil trade passes. Iran issued a Notice to Mariners yesterday, cautioning about forthcoming live-fire naval exercises in the Strait of Hormuz. ….Iran, Russia, and China will conduct joint military exercises on Sunday near the Strait of Hormuz. China is determined to protect Iran because China buys most of its oil from Iran. In the event of a war ….Iran is expected to mine the strait, consequently preventing all vessels from passing.”- The Iranians are threatening attacks on New York and Washington. [Not sure they can actually pull that off, but they have been testing new ICBMs earlier this month.]
- China is publishing satellite images of American Defense Systems in the Middle East providing the coordinates for Iranian strikes on these US assets. That is much the same that US and UK forces have been doing for Ukraine in their conflict with Russia.[v]
WHERE IS THIS HEADED?
- Pentagon released “Full List of 15 US Cities on Nuclear Target.”
- The top targets include cities near missile sites, military bases, along with New York, Washington and Chicago.
- Pentagon warns future wars may hit US soil. Homeland security is their main concern.
- North Korea is cited as a major threat from both missiles and drones.
- The Pentagon is also warning about terror threats connected to Iran.
- “Militant networks rooted in Pakistan and Afghanistan are adapting tactics and continue to inspire violence inside the United States.”[vi]
- The World is taking this very seriously. China told its’ citizens to “leave Iran as soon as possible.”
- Italy has reduced its’ embassy staff.
- Germany warned its’ people there to, “Leave Iran immediately, within the next few hours.”[vii]
REPORT: WAR IS IMMINENT
HEADLINE: “S. Military Tells Key Middle East Ally to Prepare for Attack on Iran.” “In addition to military targets, Trump is considering strikes on senior Iranian leaders with the aim of spurring the overthrow of the Iranian government.”- Senior US military officials have said that the attack could come as early as this weekend, possibly on Sunday. A former intel officer explained, “This isn’t about the nukes or the missile program. This is about regime change.” He told the journal Drop Site, “US planners envision attacks that target nuclear, ballistic, and other military sites around Iran, but will also aim to decapitate the Iranian government, and in particular the leadership and capabilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
- America’s Arab allies in the region are engaging in feverish diplomacy in the region to avert a war.[viii]
- Last minute reports. A Russian spy satellite was destroyed in orbit. The destruction was recorded by the Swiss company s2a. Hal Turner asks: “Why would the company “s2a” just happen to be recording that particular Russian satellite at the exact, precise moment it was destroyed? Maybe they had advance notice that is was going to be destroyed? It appears that NATO has destroyed a Russian satellite.”[ix]
- From Hal Turner: “Reports indicate a massive explosion in one of the most vital and secretive monitoring centers of the Iran armed forces in the strategic region of Bandar Abbas; a center that was known as the “Vigilant Eye” for controlling maritime traffic and monitoring the sensitive islands of the region…. The destruction of this facility leaves Iranian Islands in the Persian Gulf on the edge of an Abyss. Without the Bandar Abbas monitoring center, the Persian Gulf islands are like soldiers abandoned in pitch darkness. This situation has shattered the “mosaic defense,” leaving each island alone against advanced threats; a condition that in military terms is called ‘absolute defenselessness against coordinated invasion.’”[x]
