It’s going on all around the world. The UK is advising its’ citizens to prepare….for….something? Germany too. France. Other countries in Europe. Put together some food and water….and just be prepared. In Europe’s case, they may be anticipating a war with Russia….Insane as that would be. They may feel they need war to support their failing economies. But now it is the US too. America seems to be preparing for war. It may, however, just be prudent steps taken not because war is imminent, but because it is good to be in readiness. This has been widely reported in the media. Here is the gist from FOX.
“The Pentagon is preparing U.S. military bases to keep operating for at least 90 days without outside support as it prepares for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains and threaten critical infrastructure on American soil. The new requirement is part of FORTRESS, a broader military initiative aimed at ensuring American forces can continue fighting even if the civilian systems they depend on are disrupted”
The military wants to get away from relying on civilian infrastructure to sustain its’ capabilities. At the same time they are preparing steps to enable factories to shift to wartime production. They are calling this move, Fortress. And it will include some bases getting their own mini-nuclear reactors. “Under FORTRESS, every major military installation in the continental United States would be expected to sustain essential operations independently for at least 90 days, including access to electricity, water, fuel and communications.”[i] There are at least three specific areas that are being addressed by the new Pentagon order.
- Energy Independence: The installation of portable nuclear reactors, giant battery storage systems, and microgrids that allow a base to “cut loose” from the civilian power grid.
- Essential Resources: Establishing dedicated water sources, fuel reserves, and stockpiles of medicine.
- Logistics and Munitions: Creating massive inventories of minerals, spare parts, and ammunition to sustain operations during a prolonged isolation.
However you want to frame it, the whole world is gearing up…..for something.
