QUESTION: I am constructing today’s question from a number of conversations I’ve had over the last year or so, regarding the State of Israel, the legitimacy of their presence and most specifically, if they are engaged in genocide in Gaza. It’s a rather broad subject and today, I’ll offer more of a historical perspective. Some will say it’s not a complete answer. And perhaps we’ll revisit the question in the future. But I believe this will set the tone for finding the truth.
ANSWER: Just this week I saw a story which said that Netanyahu of Israel declared that there will never be a Palestinian State as long as he is Prime Minister of Israel. Does that seem unfair to some? Perhaps. And today we won’t get into the biblical mandate and prophecies. I’ve covered some of that material before. I want to start with the remarks of Mosab Hassan Yousef, the former son of a founder of Hamas. He freely admits that the ideology espoused by Hamas rejects the very notion of a Jewish State. The idea of Palestine “totally depends on the destruction of Israel in order for us to see what Palestine and the manifestation of Palestine. The destruction of Israel. It is the same with the Islamic State. It requires the destruction of civilization. All civilizations.”[i] That is the goal of every Muslim who understands the Quran & Hadith.
So, let’s go back to the beginning. Israel’s presence in the Promised Land dates back to about 1406 BC. That is long before the Arab presence. That is long before Islam came into being. The Arab / Muslim army captured Jerusalem in 637 AD. That’s over a 2,000 year difference. And throughout that time, a Jewish remnant always remained. Lett’s start with the bottom line. Palestine has never existed as a state. It did not produce coinage. No capital, no literature. “It only exists to oppose the existence of Israel.” It is a manufactured population. Its’ existence “vanishes when challenged.” Its’ early leaders admitted that to a Danish news paper in the 1960s. Their ancestors were placed there by British and Arab regimes. They are Egyptians like Yasser Arafat, their long-time leader. They are Syrians, Sudanese, Kurdish, Bedouin and even Balkan. Many were criminals expelled by Arab states. Following the events of 1948, Egypt and Jordan turned Gaza and the West Bank, (Judea & Samaria) into penal colonies housing revolutionaries and jihadists. They were not allowed to integrate with the Jordanian or Egyptian populations. The UN, influenced by the Soviet Union, later re-branded this population as indigenous to the region.
The Palestinian Liberation Organization was founded in 1964 but not to liberate Gaza. Its’ goal was to destroy Israel. Its’ entire purpose was to accomplish that goal. Arafat was trained up by the Russians. The PLO’s founding charters called for the destruction of Israel. The same is true of the 1988 Hamas Charter. It’s primary goal is to annihilate Israel. The USSR watered this anti-Jewish sentiment in the region, providing material help along the way. It is well documented that children raised in the Palestinian-controlled territories are taught to hate Israel and love blood. They sing songs of ‘martyrs’ and “cutting Jewish throats.” They are sent to camps that glorify terrorism. The ideology behind it denies the existence of the Jewish nation.
This newly-minted Palestinian People attempted to overthrow the governments of every Arab country in which they were allowed to settle. This includes Lebanon and Jordan, where they attempted to assassinate the king. They supported Sadam Hussein when he invaded Kuwait. They attempted to destabilize Egypt and Syria.

Their tactics are not new. We’ve all heard of the rape gangs in the UK. In the 1920s they were using the same tactics on Jewish girls in the territories that would become Israel. British documents attest that in the 1930s Arab revolt and again in the 1950s Jewish families were butchered, raped and mutilated. On October 7, 2023, this expressed itself again – only this time it was filmed and celebrated.
It is notable that the Arab states never fully took them in. Never allowed them to assimilate. But the UN granted them permanent refugee status. They were a useful tool to be used against the West. Refugee status is not solved. It is inherited. It is passed on….no matter the wealth or status achieved. The purpose of a Palestinian People is not to build a state, but to eliminate the Jewish state. To eliminate Israel.
Yet Palestine became a moral cause in the West. In territories controlled by the Palestinians we find child trafficking networks and forced labor exploiting African migrants and children.[ii] The bottom line is that the notion of an independent Palestinian State is built around the destruction of Israel. Nothing more….Nothing less. The Arab leadership has been rejecting statehood solutions dating back to 1937, from before the time they were calling themselves Palestinians.
They rejected the 1947 partition plan that the Jews accepted and launched a war instead. In 2000, Israeli PM Ehud Barak offered 97% of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. The PLO Leader Yassaer Arafat rejected the proposal. In 2008 they were given an even more generous offer by Israel. The new PLO Leader Abbas never responded or offered a counter proposal. Instead they chose resistance.

What the Palestinians consistently ask for is a “right of return.” That their offspring can come back to the land of Israel. This would flood the Jewish State with Arabs and effectively eliminate Israel. And that, of course, is the point. One analyst points out, “This create a Palestinian majority drawn from a population whose political leadership has repeatedly rejected peace proposals and in which Hamas has enjoyed substantial support, effectively ending Israel’s existence as a Jewish state and making the “two-state solution” a stepping stone to a single Palestinian-majority state. Hamas, which has controlled Gaza since 2007, makes these goals explicit in its charter, calling for the complete liberation of Palestine and the destruction of Israel.”[iii]
What even is the meaning of the term genocide? The outrage against Israel is manufactured. There was Soros and other Leftist money behind the campus protests that erupted on college campuses in the West following Hamas’ October 23 attack. As Bret Stephens points out: “Israel is fighting a terrorist organization that embeds fighters, weapons, tunnels, and command centers inside civilian areas. And yet, the IDF continues to take extraordinary measures to reduce civilian harm.” Yes civilians are killed, but it seems to be a selective outrage. Hundreds of thousands were killed in Rwanda in a little over 3 months and there were no protests. Iran just murdered probably 70,000 of its’ own citizens. And there was silence.[iv]
We need to filter everything through the lens of October 7, 2023. Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. A surprise attack. Nearly 1,300 Jews were killed. Families slaughtered. Mass rapes. Hostages taken. Babies burned alive. Where were the cries of genocide after that. In America and the West, somehow the narrative shifted. It was the Palestinians that became the victims. Campuses erupted. Jewish students were attacked, prevented from going to classes, at colleges here in America. The record of what was really going on was twisted. It was the Israeli response that was condemned.
Still, during the fighting, Israel provided food, vaccines, water and other medical aid to the people of Gaza. Hamas seized the food, took it for their fighters and sold the excess at exorbitant prices to the people of Gaza. Hamas regularly uses human shields from their own people. They set up military headquarters, rocket launching sites, munition dumps and operational bases in hospitals and mosques and schools. Before Israel bombs a target it drops leaflets telling people to leave. It makes announcements. It initiates phone campaign to warn the residents to evacuate. But Hamas keeps the people there at gunpoint. Civilian casualties look bad in the international media. And so, Hamas scores points on the international scene. And yet, Israel is accused of genocide.
