There are the kinetic protests, loud, sometimes violent. These are the ones that make the news. They likely do not advance the cause much, if at all. But it is the softer, more silent pressure that is moving to make America a place where jihad can flourish and in the dreams of Muslims, make it an outpost of Islam.
We’ve seen the pro-Palestinian protests on campuses. Sometimes, Jewish students are openly targeted. There is disruption and violation of societal norms. This week it was found at Columbia University in New York City. Over one-hundred protestors took over the Butler Library at the school as students were studying for finals. “The protesters are reportedly rallying in support of Mahmoud Khalil, the accused ringleader of pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia.” They climbed up on desks and chanted “Free Palestine.” The administration called in the NYPD for support. Police clashed with protesters that gathered outside to support the demonstrators. Inside now, the reinforced security staff was not allowing the masked and many keffiyeh-wearing protestors to leave without showing ID. The group issued a statement saying, “We refuse to show our IDs under militarized arrest.” Seventy-five were arrested. “Columbia said it values free expression and the right to protest, but such activities must be conducted in accordance with university rules and policies to ensure safety and allow academic and other campus activities to continue unimpeded.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio seemed to threaten deportation on X. “We are reviewing the visa status of the trespassers and vandals who took over Columbia University’s library. Pro-Hamas thugs are no longer welcome in our great nation.”[i] [ii] [iii] But this is the obvious threat and poses less of threat than the silent campaign aimed at overturning the Judeo-Christian basis of Western Civilization and democratic-republicanism.
Go back to 1991 and we find a document written by Mohamed Akram aka Mohamed Adlouni for the Shura Council of the Muslim Brotherhood. In it, he made reference to a “long-term” plan “approved and adopted” by that Council in 1987. There goal was the establishment of “an effective and stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim Brotherhood” in North America. Now, the Muslim Brotherhood was founded by Hasan al-Banna in the 1920, serving as the granddaddy of today’s Arab terror movement and a key force behind militant Islam. Prior to the Second World War, they began calling for a new order based on Sharia law. During World War II the Brotherhood managed to radicalize, – to use a modern term, – the Arab Street, by inculcating a culture of death and hatred for the Jew. Nazi-like formations of chanting radicalized Arabs marched through the streets, saluting this culture of death and chanting; “We are not afraid of death, we desire it.”[iv]
Besides its’ connections to Islamic terror organizations all around the world, the Muslim Brotherhood planted its’ flag on American soil. In a lecture delivered in 2011, Lorenzo Vidino revealed the nature of the beast and some of the ways it operates. “In the United States, the nucleus that started with the Muslim Student Association in the 1960s spawned a myriad of organizations like the Islamic Association of North America (ISNA) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Each has its own magazine, website, annual conference, and regional branches. But their unity is shown by common financial sources, interlocking board of directors, and occasional participation in common initiatives. The few hundred individuals who run them form a small social network united by family, business and most importantly ideological ties.” CAIR, for instance, has a history of seeming to cooperate with the FBI when convenient, while “masquerading as a mainstream public affairs organization…. trying to mislead the public.” At the same time they continue to finance terror operations.[v]
Going back to the documents outlining the long-term plan. “In order for Islam and its Movement to become ‘a part of the homceland’ ……. the Movement must plan and struggle to obtain’ the keys’ and the tools of this process in carry [sic] out this grand mission as a ‘Civilization Jihadist’ responsibility which lies on the shoulders of Muslims and – on top of them – the Muslim Brotherhood in this country. The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means.,,,Their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”[vi]
In 2018, Chris Gaubatz, a national security consultant talked about the what he found when he went “undercover with the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group the FBI once identified as part of a wider Muslim Brotherhood network in the United States.” Hearing it from the lips of the “imams themselves,” he came away with a clear understanding of the jihad being waged against this country. “Jihad is legally defined in Sharia as warfare against non-Muslims. Period. That is the doctrine. That is the law.” An article in RAIR laid it out plainly. “While the media focuses on the aftermath of terrorist attacks—Orlando, San Bernardino, Fort Hood, and 9/11—he [Gaubatz] stressed that the most dangerous form of jihad isn’t kinetic. “The enemy knows they will never win this war through bullets or bombs. They will win it in the information space—through education, legislation, media, and self-censorship.”
Schools teach that Islam means peace. That’s a lie. Police forces use CAIR material and guidance for sensitivity training. “Government offices [were] infiltrated by Muslim Brotherhood interns shaping foreign policy.” Former al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri knew the truth of it. “We are in an information war. This is a war in the media.” Gaubatz revealed their new strategy. “They are suit-wearing jihadis. They won’t scream ‘death to America.’ They’ll charm you. They’ll smile. But their endgame is the same: to impose Sharia on Western civilization, and they’re doing it one institution at a time.” And the sad thing is, America is imposing Sharia on itself. In California, a high school yearbook featured a “two-page spread titled ’Allahu Akbar,’ a phrase screamed by jihadists before slaughtering innocents, while excluding Christian and Jewish content.” In San Diego, a school district used a CAIR-run ‘anti-bullying’ curriculum which prioritized Islamic content. “Libraries and city councils are welcoming “interfaith outreach” that disguises dawa (Islamic proselytization) under the banner of diversity. Chris Gaubatz summarized how this all works. “This is how civilization jihad advances….By getting us to fight ourselves, by making Americans enforce Islamic blasphemy codes on their own neighbors, kids, and police.”
Finally, understand this. There exists an Unholy Alliance that is working together to bring a common enemy. That enemy is America. And the alliance consists of Marxists and Jihadis. That’s why we see BLM and ANTIFA types marching in lockstep with pro-Hamas demonstrators and promoters of Sharia Law. Gaubatz: “Jihadis didn’t get this far on their own. The Marxist infiltration of our institutions, education, media, and government laid the groundwork. Now they’re working together.”[vii]
