Let’s start with where America started. This nation was founded on the Gospel. It was dedicated….several times….to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It started at Jamestown in 1607, the first successful colony. It happened again at Plymouth in 1620, with the Mayflower Compact. The very beginning of that document laid out the purpose of the colony’s existent. “In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are under-written, the loyal subjects of our dread sovereign Lord, King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, etc. Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia.” A multi-denominational prayer meeting broke out at President Washington’s firs inauguration. We were an imperfect nation – but one that was dedicated to the God of the Bible. Yet over time we drifted. That drift was aided and abetted by those that want to destroy the foundations of the culture that we were founded upon.
The destruction of that culture has now become a policy objective of the government of the United States. President Biden issued a couple of Presidential Proclamations to celebrate and promote June as Pride Month. Here is the title of one of them. “A Proclamation on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month, 2023.” Just read and consider that title. It is a celebration of what God’s Word calls sin. So, it is a very easy matter to evaluate. One must choose your point of authority. Do we make up our own morality, becoming as ‘gods?’ Or do we bow to the clear understanding of God’s Word in these matters? What is YOUR point of authority?
Here’s how the proclamation begins. “In June 1969, a courageous group of Americans rose up to protest the violence and marginalization they faced in what became known as the Stonewall Uprising. Police had raided the Stonewall Inn — a gay bar located in New York City — and for the next six days they clashed with LGBTQI+ protestors, who bravely stood their ground. Their courage sparked a civil rights movement for the liberation of the LGBTQI+ community and changed our Nation forever.”
The problem is that the narrative is all screwed up. It is a complete falsehood. The story of the Stonewall event is not the story of courageous protest but one of unbridled violence. To begin with, the Stonewall was a Mafia owned bar and was a regular target of police raids.
The people praised as courageous Americans were actually a mob that committed violence against 8 policemen involved in the raid. That group was comprised of hundreds of people. They were hurling stones at the police who then retreated into the Stonewall bar and barricaded themselves inside. The mob tried to break down the doors of the bar. Their next move was to try to set the bar on fire with the police trapped inside. They doused paper and projectiles with lighter fluid and tried to push them into the bar. Jonathan Cahn states, “That’s the actual origin of Pride Month.”
So, the Presidential Proclamation is calling on Americans to celebrate violence and destruction and the attempt to burn the police alive. Biden goes on to talk about the over 600 “hateful laws” that target the LGBTI+ community. These are actually laws against indoctrinating children into this sick and sinful lifestyle. Don’t confuse children as to their gender. “Don’t inject them with hormones and don’t mutilate them for the rest of their lives.”
The Presidential Proclamation finishes with this. “NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2023 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to recognize the achievements of the LGBTQI+ community, to celebrate the great diversity of the American people, and to wave their flags of pride high.” This is nothing but the celebration of sin. Scripture tells us, “Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Prov16:18)
