PEACE PROCESS FAILING? – The back-and-forth in the peace talks to end the war in Ukraine is head spinning. Are we getting any closer to a deal? It doesn’t seem so. From the Sweden Herald: “According to several consistent media reports, the US government is proposing that Ukraine give up Crimea, through an American recognition of the annexed peninsula as Russian territory. In addition, the occupied parts of eastern and southeastern Ukraine will in practice remain Russian.,,,This concerns the areas in the regions of Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia that are under Russian control.[i] Russia has now signaled that ending the conflict with the status quo would likely be acceptable to Moscow. To Zelensky, not so much. Ukraine’s position includes: No international recognition of Russian sovereignty over Crimea; Security Guarantees from the West; Trump is out and Ukraine is in the peace negotiations; The agreement cannot limit Ukrainian armed forces.[ii] Looks like a non-starer and the US has warned it will walk out of the peace process if agreement cannot be reached soon. President Trump responded to Zelensky’s intransigence. “The situation for Ukraine is dire — He can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country. I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever. The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the “killing field,” and nobody wants that!” In other words, ‘Make a deal now or lose your country.’[iii]
INDIA – PAKISTAN: ON THE BRINK – Things are spilling out of control for the Asian neighbors. It all started when gunmen executed 26 tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir. India blamed Pakistan for the attacks.[iv] Pakistan denied any connection with the attacks. India is primarily Hindu and Pakistan is majority Muslim. “A previously unknown militant group calling itself Kashmir Resistance has claimed responsibility for the attack. India and Pakistan have fought two of their three wars over Kashmir, which is split between them and claimed by both in its entirety.”[v] Troops have now exchanged fire. India has cut off fresh water to Pakistan from the Indus River. Pakistan has said that it will treat that as an “act of war.”[vi]

MUSLIMS COMING TO CHRIST – As reported by a former Muslim, now a convert to Christianity. Muslims are converting en masse. He says, “mostly through dreams and visions.” And angel will come to them or “mostly Jesus Himself.” Sometimes they’ll be told to “go to this store and talk to this man, he will tell you the truth.” The dreams or visions are convincing the Muslims that Jesus is genuine. “They are flocking to Christianity.”[ix]
COVID VAX IMPLICATED AGAIN – A University of California San Francisco “study found vaccinated, COVID-naïve individuals were 5.8 to 7.2 times more likely to be hospitalized than unvaccinated people with prior infection. The data challenges previous claims that vaccines reduce severe outcomes, suggesting instead a higher risk for the vaccinated group….Public health messaging previously framed vaccines as low-risk and essential, while the study suggests the opposite for certain groups. Delayed publication (two years post-rollout) has fueled accusations of data suppression.[x]
