Sometimes we forget what this is all about. We are in a war. Humankind is both a participant and the prize. The Enemy is out to destroy God’s creation. And as flawed and sinful as we are, we are at the pinnacle of that creation. In this series we will explore the root and disparate manifestations of this evil plot against mankind and creation itself.
That root goes deeper than cultural warfare. It is more encompassing than any planned World Government. It is more malevolently intelligent than the increasingly independent AI. World leaders and the Illuminati are but its’ henchmen, knowingly or not, doing the bidding of its’ other-dimensional master. It’s beginnings trace back before the fall in the Garden – all the way to the angelic rebellion that saw one-third of the heavenly beings launch a revolt against God. The Apostle Paul put it this way. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
PART 1 – THE PROBLEM WITH JUNE….
There is a problem with June. Yeah, it has been hijacked. It used to be the month of my wife’s birthday and at the end, the month of our yearly camping week in the Finger Lakes. But now it is the month of Pride. As one Federalist article described it –
“Pride Month – formerly known as June.” This article is NOT aimed at the general public. It is ultimately aimed at those claiming to be Christians. I do not judge your status. But I do question the validity of the opinions of those wrapping themselves in that identity who then go on to contradict what the Bible has to say about homosexuality and gender. If we take what the Bible has to say as literal TRUTH, there is little room to quibble about what is meant.
Now, in the secular realm, and having Libertarian tendencies, on one level, I’m OK with a lot of this…..So long as it harms no one else. But you know what? It does! As Jefferson penned it in the Declaration of Independence the ethic that was established, called for “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” John Locke spoke of it as “life, liberty and property,” perhaps a more apt description of the inalienable rights of what America is founded on. So my libertarian tendencies say, if you want to play dress-up and pretend against reality….and science….that you are something other than what nature has assigned you….have at it. You do you & I do me! I don’t want the government jumping into that shtuff…..(That is NOT a misspelling.) But here’s the corollary. It better not interfere with or impinge on anyone else’s rights or bring harm to anyone – especially children who are not equipped to handle such things. Prance around all you like…..but don’t bring kids into Drag Queen Story Hours…..That’s grooming…..And don’t teach it in schools – that’s grooming. And don’t suggest that it’s OK to change your gender to children that are 10 – or 14 – or 7 – and after you encourage them, don’t tell the parents – that’s grooming on steroids. The former head of John’s Hopkins, points out that the overwhelming majority of kids that are now being diagnosed as ‘gender dysphoric’….get over it by the time they reach adulthood. So, chopping it off or sewing it on – while financially beneficial to the facilities that do it – like Vanderbilt, in Nashville – does NOT serve the real interest of its’ clients / patients. This is abuse.
Scripture is very clear on all of this. Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.” Pretty clear and straightforward. And then there is the passage in Romans. “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.” (Romans 1:26-27) If you are claiming to be Christian you have to take these passages seriously.
There is another aspect to all of this that is quite uncanny. What is happening today is mimicking what went on in the earliest days of recorded history. Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has documented how when we kicked God out of the public square that opened the door to the demonic presences posing as gods that dominated the ancient world. We have become, in many ways, a pagan nation. The goddess Aphrodite / Ashtoreth etc was the goddess of PRIDE & sexual confusion & not coincidentally, the rainbow. It is not coincidence that the first and last colors of this flag represent sex and spirituality. As one commentator put it, this is the flag of sodomy. Cahn: “Flying the flag is linked to being possessed by this goddess.” Yet we have churches draping themselves in these colors. One of the symbols of this goddess was the double edged axe. Since the 1970s, the double edged axe has served as a symbol of lesbianism. June was the month dedicated to the goddess. Her priests were men dressed in drag or surgically mutilated – and they danced before her. She was celebrated as the power that changed men into women and women into men. None of this is by coincidence. As Jesus taught, when a spirit is removed, as in a deliverance, if the Spirit of God does not come in, the body is empty and the demons will return in force. It applies to individuals. It applies also to nations. When we kicked God out we opened ourselves to demonic possession.
The secular nation can set its’ own standards. But the Christians among us need answer to a higher authority. We need to surrender to that higher authority. The Bible has not changed. God’s Word has not changed. We are subject to that authority – no matter our personal preferences. Truth does not change! The Bible has defined that behavior as sin. It’s not any worse than the sins I struggle with. But it is nothing to be celebrated.
Our nation is celebrating what the Scripture defines as sin. [In Italy, they have instituted Family Pride Month.] Under the last administration, the anti-God social agenda reached dizzying heights. The White House draped itself in a rainbow flag to signal that commitment. And Biden actually declared to the world the sinfulness of the nation. President Biden: “Today, the People’s House – your house – sends a clear message to the country and to the world. America is a nation of pride.” The Bible has something to say about that, “Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18)
It all really comes down to this: Who is making the rules? Is it God? Or are we falling for that same temptation that Satan / the Serpent used in the Garden? Making those rules is way above my pay grade. I will trust God and what He says. He ain’t been wrong yet!
