Last time we were talking about how when America emptied itself of the God of the Bible, beginning in the 1960s, the ancient ‘gods’ – the demonic presences – began to manifest and change the American culture. Faith & Family & Morality were the targets. The biblical foundations of the culture have been undermined. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has identified three ancient spirits posing as ‘gods’ that are invading America today. As we identified last time, the first was Baal. Real quick review: Baal entered in the 60s, confusing our reality and paganizing our culture. We’ll start there.
This re-emergence of Baal has resulted in a form of idol worship. Just like the ancient Israelites, we have succumbed to the worship of that which we have created. AI is being primed to be our master. And even yet right now, we are obsessed with our computers and our phones. We parallel in so many ways the fault lines of Israel as laid out by the Prophet Isaiah. Isaiah 2:6 “For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob,
Because they are filled with eastern ways.” And so we have entered this phase of New Age and Eastern religious practice which denies the claims of Scripture. We have raised the works of mankind above those of God. Isaiah 2:8: “Their land is also full of idols; They worship the work of their own hands, That which their own fingers have made.” AI is in the process of mastering us. Why think for ourselves when Artificial Intelligence can do is to much better for us. Another meaning of the word Baal is ‘Master.’ We are being set up to have AI think for us – to master us. The merger of man and computer is next. We are not so far off. Even now, people are lost without their phones. Technology is destroying every human relationship. Baal brings in peak evil and massive confusion. But this behavior is or our own choosing. “Just as they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations, So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.” (Isaiah 66:3-4)
The second ‘god’ to make its’ appearance Cahn calls The Enchantress. This is Ashtoreth, the wife or lover of Baal. In other cultures she is named Aphrodite or Ishtar. She is a goddess of unbridled sexuality and immorality. She is called the Great Prostitute. It was this goddess that was behind the Sexual Revolution, birthed in the 60s. Since that time we have witnessed the explosion in the divorce rate. My wife was telling me she knew of only one divorced household when she was growing up. I’m not sure I knew any. We have seen both the breakup and the re-definition of families. In addition, this goddess was the patron of taverns and secular music in bars….all of this going back to ancient times. Add another title to the list. She was the goddess of sorceries. And since that time we have seen the revival of the occult and a growth in the number of people calling themselves witches. In essence, we have seen the emergence of Fallen Angel Sexuality. It is destroying the institution of marriage and families. Go to Romans 1 and you see the progression – the worship of idols, the drive toward deviant sexual sexuality and the move toward totally pagan values. Is that not where America and the West is headed today?
Again, it was the Gospel that drove out these gods in the ancient world. But now the Gospel has been removed from the culture. It is reflected in the popular culture. Going back a bit, the Stones sang about Sympathy for the Devil. It colors much of the popular music generated from the middle of the 60s onward. Humans were created to worship and music is a major part of that. It is why the Enemy goes after music so strongly. It is a major tool in the seduction and destruction of a nation, a culture.
