FOOD SHORTAGES COMING?!…. Both The Wall Street Journal and Drudge are warning their subscribers about the coming food shortages. I carried a story, perhaps a couple of months ago on the same subject. Hal Turner Radio was my source. It is due to the cost and lack of availability of fertilizer as well as the high price of diesel. Second crops are not being planted or harvested. Fertilizer shortages are limiting the yield. Here’s what Hal Turner had to say earlier this month. “We’re losing much of the first Harvest THIS YEAR. There will be little to no second harvest because Fertilizer costs doubled or tripled because Fertilizers come, in large measure, from refining oil, so Farmer’s couldn’t plant a Second Harvest THIS YEAR. The “Food Shortages” will last until NEXT YEAR when the first harvest is done. We’re looking at a FULL YEAR of food shortages.”[i] In many cases this may not just result in higher prices but in complete unavailability of certain products. Please pray and take steps accordingly.
PRESSURING IRAN – Very quietly, on September 27, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a supercarrier left San Diego without fanfare, bands or waving families. According to Reuters is headed to the Middle East. It will be the third American carrier setting up shop near Iran, joining the USS HW Bush and the USS Gerald R Ford. This is serious. It is estimated that the US has 50K troops in the region. Combat planes continue to head to the area. Marine expeditionary units are on the way along with guided missile destroyers. This could be a build-up for a strike or it could be posturing to exert pressure on an Iran whose economy appears to be collapsing.
What exactly is happening here? On October 2, the IRGC targeted multiple tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. The Times of Israel reports that the Pentagon has sent out word to units in the area to prepare to resume operations. Following that President Trump talked about the threat posed by Iran to cities in the continental US. A resumption of combat in the region could drive up oil and hence gas prices quickly. That of course, would drive up the price of everything. After all, diesel drives everything.
