Here are some stories that just must be told. With all the chaos going on in the world we must constantly remind ourselves that God is at work. He is in command. Nothing happens that He does not allow. He is working His purposes and fulfilling His prophetic Word. He is allowing trials – but gaining victories. And He wins in the end! “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)  GOD’S PERFECT TIMING – You’ve no doubt heard about all the tunnels that the IDF found when they entered Gaza. These tunnels cost tens of millions of dollars to build and took the lives of dozens of Palestinian children who were forced to work in the cramped spaces as they were constructed. Some of them go nearly 2 miles deep into Israel proper. The tunnels were built in pairs so that they would open up on both sides of a targeted community. Everything was just about in place for their use. Israel intelligence ... [More]

Admittedly, handicapping the future unfolding of prophecy is not a perfect science. Still certain truths can be stated with certainty. In other cases we can begin to see the outlines of fulfillment in today’s headlines.   The daily unfolding of the conflict between Israel and Hamas is driving home the immanency of the next war on the prophetic horizon; the Psalm 83 War. As I write this a little over a week ahead of publication, the Israeli Air Force has destroyed 40 Gaza mosques that have been turned into storage centers for rockets and other weapons. The IDF continues to destroy tunnels. And an Israeli officer has been kidnapped by Hamas, putting an end to a 72 hour truce.[i] [ii] THE NEXT PROPHETIC WAR Scripture tells us clearly that the nation of Israel faces a tough road in the last days. From Scripture it appears that there are two prophetic wars facing the Jewish nation before the return of Messiah Jesus. Most are aware of the famous Gog-Magog prophecies found in Ezekiel, ... The issue at the US’s southern border is about a whole lot more than unaccompanied minors coming in from Central America. Texas Governor Rick Perry gives us some of the details. Record numbers of individuals are entering the US from “countries that have substantial terrorist ties,” including Syria Afghanistan and Pakistan. Breitbart reports: “Rep Mike McCaul (R-TX), the House Homeland Security Committee Chair, said Iranian terrorists have had plans to sneak across the border.” Since 2008, over 200,000 illegals have spent time in Texas jails. That group has been responsible for 3,000 homicides and 8,000 sexual assaults.[i] But there’s more to it than even that. Judicial Watch reported that according to medical doctor and Georgia Congressman Phil Gingrey: “The hordes of illegal immigrant minors entering the U.S. are bringing serious diseases—including swine flu, dengue fever, Ebola virus and tuberculosis—that present a danger to the American public as well as the Border Patrol agents ...  “And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, The beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It will never be inhabited, Nor will it be settled from generation to generation.” (Isaiah 13:19-20) This threat that seemingly arose out of nothing continues to grow. ISIS, aka the Islamic State, advances still, bringing with it its dark, devastating and deathly agenda. For one thing, the Sunni terror group made its first conquest in Lebanon, seizing the city of Arsal with 40,000 residents and another 120,000 refugees.[i] But the real big news was back in Iraq, the home of ancient Babylon, where ISIS fighters chased off Kurdish forces without a fight as they captured three towns, an oil field – and most importantly the electricity-producing Mosul Dam in the northern part of the country. The dam controls the flow of both the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.[ii] [That’s interesting in the light of the fact that Revelation 16:12 tells us that the Euphrates will one ... [More]

So we’ve quickly surveyed Israel’s history from its twin scattering by the Romans in 70AD and 132AD up through the centuries until about the dawn of the 20th century. We’ve also looked at the amazing prophetic fulfillment that Israel’s reestablishment in 1948 represented. It was amazing to see that a word given to the prophet Ezekiel and applied to the principles laid out in the Book of Leviticus – correctly prophesied the return of God’s people to statehood status in May of 1948 – exactly when it happened. In PART III we’ll look at 20th century events that led to that fulfillment of national destiny. Israel reborn is the theme of so many prophetic scripture and of the purposes of God. It is truly amazing to be living in such prophetic times as these; on the very cusp of the End of the Age. THE PURPOSES OF GOD “For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim.” (Hosea 3:4) “On that day I will ... [More]
