Admittedly, handicapping the future unfolding of prophecy is not a perfect science. Still certain truths can be stated with certainty. In other cases we can begin to see the outlines of fulfillment in today’s headlines.   The daily unfolding of the conflict between Israel and Hamas is driving home the immanency of the next war on the prophetic horizon; the Psalm 83 War. As I write this a little over a week ahead of publication, the Israeli Air Force has destroyed 40 Gaza mosques that have been turned into storage centers for rockets and other weapons. The IDF continues to destroy tunnels. And an Israeli officer has been kidnapped by Hamas, putting an end to a 72 hour truce.[i] [ii] THE NEXT PROPHETIC WAR Scripture tells us clearly that the nation of Israel faces a tough road in the last days. From Scripture it appears that there are two prophetic wars facing the Jewish nation before the return of Messiah Jesus. Most are aware of the famous Gog-Magog prophecies found in Ezekiel, ... The issue at the US’s southern border is about a whole lot more than unaccompanied minors coming in from Central America. Texas Governor Rick Perry gives us some of the details. Record numbers of individuals are entering the US from “countries that have substantial terrorist ties,” including Syria Afghanistan and Pakistan. Breitbart reports: “Rep Mike McCaul (R-TX), the House Homeland Security Committee Chair, said Iranian terrorists have had plans to sneak across the border.” Since 2008, over 200,000 illegals have spent time in Texas jails. For one thing, the Sunni terror group made its first conquest in Lebanon, seizing the city of Arsal with 40,000 residents and another 120,000 refugees.[i] But the real big news was back in Iraq, the home of ancient Babylon, where ISIS fighters chased off Kurdish forces without a fight as they captured three towns, an oil field – and most importantly the electricity-producing Mosul Dam in the northern part of the country. The dam controls the flow of both the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.[ii] [That’s interesting in the light of the fact that Revelation 16:12 tells us that the Euphrates will one ... [More]
