Kenya’s President Honors Muslim Teacher Who Died after Shielding Christians From Terrorist Attack – (Apr 4, 2016: Gospel Herald) – Muslim Teacher, Salah Farah, who died shielding Christians after Islamic extremists attacked a bus in Kenya has been posthumously honored for his act of courage. The terrorists killed two people and wounded four others in the December attack before ordering the Muslim passengers to separate themselves from the Christians-but the Muslims on board refused to comply. They even gave some non-Muslims their religious attire to wear on the bus so that they would not be identified easily. Though Farah and several others were shot during the attack, the militants decided to leave after the passengers’ show of unity. A month after the attack, Farah, the father of five, died from his injuries. “He died defending people who he did not know. This is because he believed in their right to freedom of worship and he knew that every single life-irrespective of faith-is sacred,” President Uhuru Kenyatta said during the State of Nation address in parliament, Al Jazeera reports. “I want to tell his children that their father’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
This Prime Minister Backs a Call For a Full Abortion Ban in Her Country – (by Natalia Dueholm : Apr 4, 2016 : LifeSiteNews.com) Last week, the Polish bishops published a letter to be read in churches on Sunday calling for a new abortion law to fully protect the unborn. The direct reason for this public statement is a proposed law that will end up in Parliament soon after pro-life activists gather 100,000 signatures of support for the bill. Prime Minister Beata Szydio has also signaled her support for the measure. “At this stage I can say what my decision will be, at the moment I cannot talk about the bill, because this bill does not yet exist…As for my opinion, the opinion of Beata Szydio-yes, I support this initiative.” The Ordo luris Institute, a legal organization, actually wrote the bill proposed by the Foundation. “I hope that the politicians will present a united moral front,” said Jerzy Kwasniewski, a lawyer from Ordo luris. “If we want to reestablish order in Poland, we need to start with the most fundamental thing: the protection of human life.” (We here in the US should take a clue from this last statement)
