This sure is a different kind of Christmas. The world has changed so much in this past year and not for the better. Never could I have imagined this happening in the days of my youth, but in these last twenty or so years, what started as a trickling-in of evil, sped up like a runaway train and just like that…we’re all witnesses to the demise of this great nation, America.
Have we been so ignorant to think we could remove God from our schools and government and public-square and then expect the blessings of the Almighty? A country left to its own devices is never a good thing. George Washington said “It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.” Too bad we didn’t take heed of those words.
Today we’re told to be ashamed of our Country. The proud patriotic citizen is looked upon as the enemy. Injustice is rampant! Good is considered to be evil and evil, good. The man-made China virus and its variants are accomplishing their intended purpose, creating unprecedented fear and rapidly advancing government control. We’ve lost our voice to offset the lying, biased media, keeping most of the world in the dark to the truth. It’s a grim scenario and it looks utterly hopeless.
But God!
We may have abandoned Him, but it’s not too late to call Him back. God promises His children if they humble themselves in prayer, follow him and turn from their sin, He will indeed heal their land! See 2 Chronicles 7:14
Things may not change immediately. They may even get worse, as we live out the consequences of our sin. But God will always take care of His own. To the one who puts Him first, high above all worldly treasures and concerns, He will supply everything that is needed. See Matthew 6:33
So, individually and as a nation, l pray we will bow down in humility, confess our sins and admit we desperately need him. He is there to all who call upon His Name.
Regardless of how merciless our sin, His mercy is never-ending! The heart that turns to Jesus will be set free in His abundant supply of forgiveness and grace.
To the God of all creation, who came into our world to take the form of the very ones he created…We praise you for your precious gift to us…Jesus Christ, the one and only Savior of a lost and dying world. What great love you have poured upon us, that we become your children when our hearts surrender to you. May we love one another the way you have loved us. Amen
Have a Merry Christmas and a Hope-Filled New Year!
