It was October of 1964 and the 60’s as we know them, were really just getting started. The University of California at Berkley students were becoming increasingly involved in the Civil Rights movement that was raging – especially in the South, working with groups like the Freedom Riders and the Freedom Summer Project. One former graduate student refused to show his ID to campus authorities. He was arrested. A police car was peacefully surrounded – for over 24 hours. There were sit-ins and protests. The core issue revolved around the fact that the students wanted to be able to exercise their 1st Amendment right of free political speech on campus. And thus was born: The Free Speech Movement. Born: October 1964 – Died?: February 2017. Berkley, California, USA.
It was at Berkley again. Milo Yiannopoulos, an editor for the right wing Breitbart was scheduled to speak on campus. But the hard Left did not like his message. Scores of Black Bloc protestors invaded the area around the venue and began perpetrating violence. Trump supporters were chased and beaten with metal rods. Objects and smoke bombs were thrown at the building where the talk was scheduled to take place by hooded and black clad provocateurs. Police effectively stood down. The talk was canceled.
Yet these are the People of Tolerance. These are the loving and open minded. These are the Advocates of Love Trumps Hate. They bring their bloody sticks down on the heads of all who would see the world through a different lens. They would rather burn down the campus then allow someone to have a differing view. They are here to bring chaos. To advance the lie. To divide the nation. And knowingly or not, to prepare the way for a New World Order that will save us from all of this contrived chaos. And though we may be full of anger and self-righteousness, Jesus left us with a solemn charge. “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”
