One of the major themes of the Last Days is that of deception. Jesus warned His disciples of that very thing. Speaking of the Last Days and His return, Jesus told them, “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5) (KJV) Further on in the chapter He says, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matthew 24:24) (KJV) Deception is the hallmark of these final days. False prophets shall come, – and are already here, calling themselves Christians – and spreading “doctrines of demons.” (1Timothy 4:1) One such demonic doctrine that is spread among some branches of Christianity, even in seminaries, is the notion that we all worship the same God. All paths, they say, lead to the same ultimate reality. It is a teaching that sounds loving and compassionate and accepting. But it is dangerous and very wrong.
This is a very dangerous notion in this time of war between the terrorist forces of Islam and those of the West. This is the drivel that passes for wisdom among the legacy media and the intellectual elite. The ‘same god’ myth couldn’t be farther from the truth. The gods of this world only superficially resemble each other. The differences are profound and critical to such a nonsensical proposition. In particular, we are told that Allah is the same as the God of the Bible. Well let’s consider this one scripture. “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.” (1John 5:1) This central scripture about Jesus defines the central breaking point between Islam and Christianity; the person of Jesus Christ. What is His identity? As this century has turned into the era of a terror-driven clash of civilizations, we’ll look at how the varying views on the identity of Jesus – and His followers defines the day we live in and the worldviews we hold.
Islam brings violence! Think of how this plays out. It’s always the same. In the name of religion. In the name of Jihad. In the name of Allah. It comes home. Allah is declared. And it will be said that it is not all Muslims that hold that guilt. That statement is true. There are open and sweet people here that claim to follow the ways of Mohammed. [And as Christians we have but one mission here; to pray for – and witness to – them, that God would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. And not only for them but for their violent countrymen. Even for the terrorist. We serve a God of forgiveness for anyone who would serve him.] But at the heart of that religion, found in the recesses of its holy book the Koran; found in its supporting literature, the Hadiths, are calls to Jihad and war and slaughter of the innocents in the name of Allah. And so its’ most loyal and literal adherents declare their loyalty with acts of terror and violence. The slaughter of October 7 was not without precedent. It is the same spirit that drove the 9/11 attacks and so many more. There is a history here. What all these events have in common, is that they are products of the dark and poisoned fruit of the ‘Religion of Peace.’ And these horrific acts of violence are supported in their holy book.
Let’s take a look at some of the passages from the Quran. Sura 5:51: “O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.” That doesn’t sound like the Quran teaches that Christians, Jews and Muslims are all worshiping the same God. Sura 9:5: “Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.” Jesus taught turn the other cheek and love your enemies. Doesn’t quite sound the same, now does it? Here is Sura 5:33. “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides.” The Israeli Defense Forces who responded to the Hamas attack found victims whose hands and feet had been cut off from opposite sides. In this case, the terror group Hamas was just following their book.
And then there are the beheadings. Hamas took the heads off of some children and infants. Back in 2014, ISIS engaged in the same practice. Here’s the applicable verse, Sura 47:4. “So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens.” So, this is talking about slaughtering enemies by beheading them and then taking them prisoners. It is widely understood by this that they are to make slaves of them. And slavery is still practiced in many Muslim countries. ISIS, for instance, seized thousands of Yazidi and Christian girls for sex slavery, complete with auctions in an open air slave market. You can read their stories online. Again, the perpetrators were just following the dictates of their book.
Then you have this. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. And beheading is a Muslim practice. So, it would seem, that after the Rapture of God’s Church, Islam would become the dominant religion on the planet. In Revelation, the Apostle John writes, “Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands.” (Revelation 20:4)
This does not seem like the same God. Islam teaches the slaughter of enemies and unbelievers. Jesus taught, “I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44) Bit of a contrast there, wouldn’t you say?
So, these are just some of the writings from these two, very different religious perspectives. It is interesting then that so much of the media – as well as the Catholic Church continues to promote the lie that all religions, and especially Islam, worships the same God as do the Christians. And we’ll be taking that on in the weeks ahead.
